I have never had a vehicle that had a transmission issue so when my Honda had an unexpected transmission failure I was at a loss. Transmissions Plus was there every step of the way and was able to get the work done quickly (about a week) to help alleviate the pain of borrowing/renting a car. I also can rest easy knowing that they guarantee their work with a warranty.

Outstanding experience! After our transmission failed in our 2018 CR-V, we called around the QC trying to find a shop that could help. Carter with Transmissions Plus answered right away, took our info and within an hour found a replacement transmission with less miles and got us scheduled. The replacement parts and labor were fractions of our local Honda dealership and Transmissions Plus was able to get it repaired/replaced in half the time originally expected. 👏👏👏👏 Thank you to Carter, Devon, the wonderful office manager(I didn’t get her name) and the entire Transmissions Plus group:) I hope you never have transmission problems but if you do call Transmissions Plus first!

On the road 300 miles from home and destination. Car lurches and Service Transmission and engine lights come on 40 miles from hotel. Talk to Gary and he agrees to look at next morning. We had our van towed here for tramsmission issues. Bill was very informative, their staff was very friendly as well. He always returned my phone calls if he wasn't available. My family and I used to take our vehicles here over 16 years ago when we lived in town. I recently needed my vehicle repaired. The shop does not have a coordinator which I believe they could benefit greatly from. This place is an old school repair shop. The mechanics are in charge of customer follow-up and mechanics normally aren't customer service friendly. So I guess what I'm saying is if good communication and customer service driven is important to you, this isn't it. But if you want a trustworthy and knowledgeable group of mechanics to do a great job and at a reasonable price this one's for you.

Wife and I get a lot of car work done here. Just had a transmission done and it was fast and under what I thought the cost was going to be. The staff is friendly and fast to call if needed with questions and they always ask before charging. And they use your parts if you bring them with the car which I like, sometimes you just have the part. Place is clean and easy right off the road. Parking lot can be a bit crowded but location is good.

My wife's Transmission went out so we brought it here to Transmission Plus and they were great. They kept me informed through the whole process. They had the trans pulled, rebuilt and re-installed all in under a week! Dropped it off on Monday afternoon and they called me Thursday evening saying it was done. They are super professional and just an all around great group of people from the Secretary to the tech. 5 stars and I'm most definitely a return customer.!!!

Too many repair shops aren’t all that “nice” when talking to customers but Glenn has been very nice to talk to and will answer any question in a polite respectful way. I bought my 2006 ram 2500 in January 2009. In November 2011 with 76,000 miles on it, the transmission started acting up. Took it to Transmissions Plus. They had it completely rebuilt in 2 days. Have 170,000 miles on it now and just had the fluid and filter changed there. Glen said everything looks great and it is still shifting good. Definitely will go back.

We exited off the interstate with what we thought was a failing alternator and stumbled across this wonderful place. The people at Transmissions Plus were super friendly and had us back on the road with in an hour with a shiny new alternator. The waiting area was nice and clean and had coloring books for the kids. Being overly frugal our family typically has at least 3 older vehicles over 100K miles. Trans Plus got recommended by my local mechanic for engine work he couldn't do. Was very pleased with the outcome. Another issue (vibration starting at about 45 mph) that more local shops could not identify the cause brought me to try Transmission plus again and they quickly found and fixed the drive shaft imbalance. I then switched all my business to them and have been very pleased for many years now that included many major repairs - head gasket leaks, front wheel shaft damage, exhaust manifold converter repairs and a rebuilt transmission. They maybe more out of the way for me but I'm glad they are there.

I mainly go here because it's within walking distance of my home. However, the few times that I have taken my vehicle here, I have not had a bad experience. So, I give them five stars. If you do a google search for Transmissions Plus in Colona, IL, the Google result page shows that they are open Monday through Sunday. They are not open on Saturday or Sunday -- just Monday through Friday. Update: I took my truck back to Transmissions Plus because the engine would die for a few seconds and then restart (over and over). They called me back and said they couldn't find the problem. When it was running, I took a chance and drove it to a local parts store and asked then to do a computer diagnostic. They found a negative voltage on the throttle position sensor. The parts guy not only found the problem in a few minutes but showed me exactly what was wrong. A hose clamp had worn the insulation off of two wires on the throttle position sensor and they were touching each other. I bought a new sensor and installed it in under 20 minutes. My truck has been running like new for the past several months.
